The Sofia pattern bell sleeve is a flowy bias-cut style that's paired with a shoulder strap, making it perfect if you're looking for a style that gives coverage for bra-straps. In this sew-along tutorial, I'll walk you through the steps of constructing this sleeve version.

 

Having pockets make any garment SO much more enjoyable to wear. There's really no reason why you should have to go without them because side seam pockets are a really easy addition to a garment, even if the pattern doesn't call for a pocket. While this tutorial is part of the Sofia sew-along series, you can follow these steps if you're looking to add a pocket to just about anything. Let's dive right in.

Welcome back to the Sofia sew-along. This post is for those of you making the bishop, cap or elbow puff sleeve option. We will be attaching the sleeve to the bodice. These three sleeve styles feature an elasticized cap shoulder. A bias facing will be sewn along the sleeve cap, which will act as an elastic channel while finishing the curved sleeve edge.

If you've been following along in the Sofia sew-along, then you'll be eager to finish off the bodice. In this portion of the sew-along, we'll insert the elastic in the bodice, sew the side seams, and if you're making one of the top versions, we'll finish sewing the hem. Let's dive in!
